Registered business

Magnolia Hub Consulting Pty Ltd is the official registered business name. We were established in 2011 in Darwin, Northern Territory, to serve owners of established local businesses facing ownership transitions.

Our origin

Founder Eleanor Whitfield spent twelve years as a commercial lawyer in Darwin before noticing a pattern: clients would finalise sale documents without ever discussing what happened to the staff canteen conversation on Monday, or whether the owner’s daughter actually wanted the keys. Magnolia Hub was created to fill that gap — practical succession planning that sits between the boardroom and the shop floor.

What we do

We advise owners of retail stores, trades businesses, medical and dental practices, hospitality venues, and regional service firms. Our work covers successor selection, transition timelines, staff communication, and coordination with your existing accountant and solicitor. We do not replace those professionals; we help you use them efficiently.

How we work

We listen before we recommend. Every engagement starts with understanding your business as it operates today — not as a textbook case study. We favour plain language, written deliverables you can file, and timelines that respect harvest seasons, school terms, and the reality that you still have a business to run during planning.

Community

We sponsor the NT Family Business Network quarterly roundtables and contribute articles to the Darwin Chamber of Commerce newsletter. Several of our clients operate in remote communities; we schedule video sessions and on-site visits to accommodate travel distances across the Territory.
